Step 1: Acquire the BgInfo Files from Microsoft.
Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897557. Click Download BgInfo. Save BgInfo.zip. Once saved, extract the contents of BgInfo.zip to “C:\BgInfo”
Step 2: Run Bginfo.exe.
Agree to the license terms when prompted. Remove any criteria that you don’t need or want displayed. Click the Desktops button. Make sure all 3 settings are set to “Update this Wallpaper” (click OK). Once you’ve configured BGInfo to display the settings you want, click on “File –> Save As…”. Save the file as Default.bgi (in “C:\BgInfo”)
Step 3: Create the shortcut and place it in the Startup folder.
Create a shortcut with these parameters:
Target: C:\BGInfo\Bginfo.exe “C:\BgInfo\Default.bgi” /timer:0 /NOLICPROMPT
Start in: C:\BgInfo
Next, place the shortcut you just created in the following directory:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
The next time you log into the machine, BgInfo will be your desktop background. You can just double-click the shortcut from step 3 to keep from logging out / back in.
